❓ FAQ Page
-
🚗 Do you perform road tests during the inspection?
A limited road evaluation may be performed when authorized and reasonably possible.
The evaluation is intended to observe basic transmission operation, acceleration, braking, steering, suspension, and driveline behavior under normal driving conditions. It is not an extended test drive, performance test, or safety certification.
A road evaluation may not be completed if permission is not provided, the vehicle is not suitable for operation, or location, weather, traffic, or road conditions prevent it. When a road evaluation cannot be performed, the limitation will be documented in the inspection report.

📄 What about Carfax or AutoCheck? Don’t those show everything?
Vehicle history reports like Carfax or AutoCheck are useful—but they only show what’s been officially reported to insurance companies, DMVs, or service facilities.
They cannot tell you the current condition of the vehicle.
For example, a car might have no accident history but still have:
Worn brakes or tires
Fluid leaks
Suspension damage
Inoperative lights or electronics
Structural rust
Open recalls
That’s where our service comes in.
A report can show the past—we show you what’s happening right now. -
⚖️ Will you tell me whether I should buy the vehicle?
ClearPath Auto Check provides independent third-party vehicle inspections intended to help clients make more informed purchasing decisions.
We remain neutral regarding the purchase decision itself and do not recommend for or against the purchase of a specific vehicle. Our goal is to document observable vehicle condition, operational behavior, diagnostic information, and notable findings at the time of inspection so clients can evaluate the vehicle using objective information.
Because used vehicles can develop future issues regardless of current condition, no inspection can guarantee future reliability, future repair costs, or long-term ownership experience.

🔧 Do you inspect salvage or rebuilt title vehicles?
Yes, but with important caveats.
Rebuilt and salvage title vehicles have a higher risk of hidden problems, even if they appear to drive normally. Our inspections can identify visible signs of prior damage or repair work and document the current observable condition of the vehicle. However, we cannot confirm the quality of previous structural repairs or detect issues that require disassembly or advanced diagnostic equipment.
If you're considering a rebuilt or salvage title vehicle, we strongly recommend reviewing the full vehicle history and understanding the limitations of any inspection before purchasing.
